Lean processes in sheet metal design and unfolding
Quality machine equipment lasts for several decades. Therefore, it makes no sense economically to use sheet metal software that focuses on one machine-specific output format. For this reason, SPI GmbH offers a CAD solution for sheet metalworkers that is based on Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks and supports continuous processes even in heterogeneous system environments.
The SPI solution accompanies the design and unfolding of sheet metal parts and assemblies with a special focus on manufacturing-orientated preparation of the output. The flat pattern created by the SPI software contains all information that is relevant for manufacturing and can be directly transferred to CAM applications for punching/nibbling, lasering, and bending. The available export formats cover Bystronic, Cybelec, Delem, CADMAN B, TruTops Classic, TruTops Boost, PN4000, PNBend, and more.
Online calculation of individual sheet metal cuts
The SPI Calculator is a web-based calculation tool for sheet metalworkers who manufacture their own products as well as for sheet metal service providers. It allows you to easily calculate quotes for individual customer requests, thus making it possible to faster and more efficiently generate new orders. You can use the Calculator as an internal cost calculation tool for quickly creating offers with the help of pre-configured parameters.
You can automate the process even further and use the Calculator as the basis for your own online store.
After the customer has uploaded their own file(s) (either in DXF and STEP format), an automatic calculation is made based on the corresponding inputs and the customer receives an immediate online quotation with the option to order. Giving prospective clients the option to transparently calculate the costs of their sheet metal order, increases the attractiveness of your business.
